Meeting Granda Again

Whilst in Singapore I travelled to the barracks my grandfather was stationed in for his national service over 70 years ago, Changi Barracks. It was a great feeling to walk on the grounds he spent many days training on the other side of the world in 1945-47. In this photo my grandfather and myself are both 21 years old and standing in the same spot at Changi Barracks. A great deal has changed in the area and buildings but I'd like to think he would have been proud to have known his grandson went back to the same country at the same age and enjoyed the time there as much as he did.
