Liberté Egalité Fraternité

The past year was a particularly difficult one for France and the darkness of the terrorist attacks against the Bataclan hung over the country. But one of the positives that came from this awful attack was the way that all of Paris, France and the world came together to get through it. People made great shows of strength and solidarity throughout Paris but especially at La Place de la Republique where thousands of tributes were left to honour and mourn the victims. I chose to place this in the "people" category as, for me, it shows the strength and unity of the French people. The emotions felt in front of the vigil is something no words can convey.
