Applying for the STAR Scholarship

This scholarship is open to eligible students starting their course at the University of Strathclyde in September 2026. The STAR Scholarship offers students a payment of £1,500 per annum, from the award date, for the duration of their undergraduate degree. The deadline for receipt of applications is Wednesday 24th June 2026.

In order to apply for this award, you need to firstly create an account. Once you have created your account, you can then log in to complete your application. There are 3 short sections to the application which require to be completed before you can submit your application:

General Details – your personal and financial details and information on your course choice(s)

Personal Statement – you should use this section to outline your reasons for your course choice at Strathclyde and to tell us a bit about school life (max 300 words). You can tell us about your circumstances and how the scholarship would make a difference to your studies (max 300 words). It may be helpful to type this first and copy and paste into the sections.

Reference - This should come from a Head Teacher, or designated member of staff at your school/college, who can indicate any financial need or other challenging circumstances that should qualify you for an award.
